I was advising my Business School students over 3 years ago that Monoliths like Kmart would have to quickly change their business model or they would become a victim of the new way of doing business.
I need to share some very important information with you today that will be affecting your future life in a major way, and I want to ensure you are prepared for it.
In relation to KMART, Sadly, my prediction is coming closer to reality as their parent company SEARS has lost 45% market share since 2013 to the likes of Amazon and Walmart, and they have been closing stores throughout the world like crazy, trying to stave off the inevitable.
What has this got to do with you?
Well, let me roll off a few examples that may hit closer to home.
I was talking to one of the highest people in the car industry a few months ago and he informed me that Britain has now banned all Petrol and Diesel Vehicles from the year 2040. (That’s only 20 years away folks). The truth is, one of the major brands that you know, has already stopped making petrol and diesel vehicles and is only creating electric vehicles.(I cannot divulge the name)
So, how does this affect you?
Well, for starters, the electric motors in cars rarely break down.
The vehicles will all have accident prevention technology.
Goodbye Panel Beaters
They already have 10 cities in America with Driverless vehicles and Telstra is launching 5G technology on the Gold Coast right now (YAAY, Finally fast internet at my property) so they can have the infrastructure for driverless cars within a few years.
Goodbye Taxi Drivers, Truck Drivers and yes, even Uber Drivers.
Are you getting the picture?
I mean, for Pete’s sake, there are even Drone taxi’s now operating in Dubai that you order like an UBER and they arrive (without a pilot) pick you up and deposit you where you would like to be. (The Jetsons does not seem so crazy now)
Click the picture below if you don’t believe me, but make sure you come back to this article, because I have some good news for you.
The bottom line is the world is changing and if Pilots can end up being affected then just about anyone in business could end up on the scrap heap if they are not prepared.
So how do you prepare? By becoming Streetsmart instead of Sheepsmart. Having the courage to realise that if you take action now, and develop new skills that can be of benefit to others in the future then you will be ahead of the game.
I want to bring you back to the case of KMART and the situation they are in now. Believe me, if I could predict their future 3-4 years ago, they would have had experts giving them the heads up about how Amazon would affect their business but they did not adapt, and there is a formula for that.
It is called the Cost Of Inaction.
And they are now losing over One Billion Dollars a Year because of it and will likely become a chapter in some Harvard Business Manual of What Not To Do.
To help you I have created a powerful tool that can help you prepare for the future.
Do not be like KMART and suffer the death of a thousand cuts, get ahead of the game, learn how to get ahead of the game and take advantage of the new opportunities that are starting to appear.
Click the button below and this tool can help you calculate the urgency of taking action.
